 PRACTICUM V

 LEARNING PORTFOLIO

About me

Hello, it's Laura!

I am 21, I am from Barcelona and I am currently studying Primary Education – English Minor. I’m at my last school year at UAB and I’m really looking forward to finishing my degree and becoming a teacher. I have always wanted to be a teacher; since I was a little girl I knew this job was made for me. That is why I have been in contact with children from long ago: as leisure time monitor, as babysitter… And this year I’ve started to teach English lessons at an English academy.

I consider myself a hard-working person who never gives up and who is always wanting to innovate and improve. I like sharing ideas and opinions with my colleagues, and working collaboratively. Also, I am determinedto not give up when difficult situations arise, but rather struggl to improve; I learn from my mistakes, and last but not least, I am passionate about children and teaching. I am well aware I still don’t have much experience and there are a lot of things I have to learn: I am not used to work with large groups, and maintaining control and order is not always easy, and I will need lots of patience, which sometimes is not my forte. But I’m really excited about being a teacher!

 The project

This webpage is aimed at presenting my learning experience during the development of my Practicum V.

The webpage contains an explanation of MY TEACHING PRACTICE, and a detailed report of each session. It also includes the CLASSROOM LANGUAGE used, or planned to use, during my intervention. For this Practicum, I have also developed a CO-TEACHING activity in collaboration with two other student- teachers. All the reflections about these implementations can be found in the  EVALUATION AND REFLECTIONS section.

Besides, this webpage includes useful teaching ressources, such as MY GREAT RESSOURCE TO SHARE presented in class, and a review of new DIGITAL TRENDS IN THE ENGLISH CLASSROOM. Two topics of interst are widely discussed in the ONGOING OBSERVATION section.

Finally, all the information sources are organized in the RESOURCES section, along with the links to my classmates' learning portfolios.
